Some people just have a natural flair to look good while basically breaking all the rules! One of those people is Kate Moss, and for a very long time, I couldn't find anybody else out there of who I could say the same thing. And then Alexa Chung came along! I love it that she makes dressing seem so effortless and easy. She mixes designer with high street, vintage and brand new, and it all look so effortless! She is an inspiration!
I have been thinking that I really should wear more feathers. They always look so 50's movie style glamour. You can dress it up (as seen below on a model at a GERT VAN DER MERWE couture show. More about him later!), or you can dress it down with faded jeans and flats or heels. You still get the luxury feeling without it being un-pc like fur.
I just can't help myself.. Even though I love my high heels, the more I see of these ESQUIVEL shoes, the more I want them! They are so funky and different, and I already have a couple of outfits in my head for each of the pairs! I really believe that they will be very comfortable, and eventually take on the shape of your feet. But I also believe they will be the envy of all your friends (and foes!). Now I must just make a plan to get the money to buy them, since they don't come cheap!!
I know it is probably very un-pc to say that I really love Rachel Zoe's style! But, I do! She has been critisized extensively for being very thin (and I agree, she is very thin), and for being a manipulative diva. But for me it is easy to look past all of that, because I look at her and I see a person who loves looking good, and loves beautiful clothes, and want to help other people to look good (and yes, I know she tends to make mini-me's, but that is the client's problem). I think it would be magic to raid this women's closet. I really like the vintage dresses she wears, but I also like her in other stuff!
Yes, I know I said that I am not the biggest fan of vintage, but since my Ossie obsession began, I couldn't help myself! And in the process I stumbled upon this site (shrimpton couture), and I love all the beautiful clothes on here. Some of it is reworked vintage, but some of it is the real thing! It is pricey, and most of the stuff that I would love to have, is sold out, but I think if you are serious about buying vintage, you must find a site like this and visit it everyday to be the first to get your hands on the new stuff. They update quite regularly.
