I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE...

And it wasn't even difficult or painful or the least bit challenging! I was minding my own business, trying to read my book (John Irving), with TRACE music channel in the background, when the new ALICIA KEYS song - Try sleeping with a broken heart - came up. I like her a lot, so I wanted to see the video, and my oh my, that is when I saw THE JACKET. Unfortunately I can get obsessed like this, I had to put down my book immediately (sorry John!) to try and find out what jacket she was wearing. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I have loved biker jackets since forever, and this blinged up version was right up my alley!

But when I found out it was a Catherine Malandrino (thank you Wouri Vice - stylist), I had to go and have a look at Catherine Malandrino's other stuff, and that was when I felt the warm loving feeling! I can't believe that I haven't taken her more seriously in my fashion mind. Well, that will never happen again!! Love your work Catherine (and you are quite beautiful as well!)

One of Catherine's favorites from her new collection..

How funky is this...
This can look seriously sexy..

THE HEART OF THE HOME

I do love spending time in my kitchen. I love my kitchen. And I really believe that it is the heart of the home. Whether you like to cook or not, a kitchen is always a welcoming place - or should be! I love cooking, and find it therapeutic, but even if you just use your your kitchen to take the take aways out of the boxes, it should still be a good experience. I love the smell of a cake baking in the oven, or of onions and garlic frying in a pan, or fresh vanilla pods being sliced open. It doesn't really matter if you have a modern kitchen or a country kitchen, just make sure that people want to spend time there...

DAILY SHOE FIX...

I am not quite sure about these (yet), but they do make me think of KESHA's TIK TOK video. Maybe they will still grow on me...

Isabel Marant

Trust BEYONCE to always have the coolest shoes! I love these Brian Atwoods.

(QUICK!) DAILY SHOE FIX...

Just a quick post; I REALLY wasn't online looking for shoes (REALLY!!), but came across these interesting ones, and thought I had to share it. I am wondering if these are comfortable (the ones with the funny heels), or if they are difficult to walk in. Whatever the case may be, I can assure you that people will notice your shoes! They are from the ACNE SS 2010 collection.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK - 3.1 PHILLIP LIM

I was so busy the last couple of weeks, that I didn't even have the energy to follow New York Fashion week!! I just took a quick peek at some of the shows today, and the shoes at 3.1 Phillip Lim seemed like fun! I will hopefully be taking a closer look this week, and be able to have some more interesting posts....

It seems like the shoe boot is here to stay - at least for now. And I am happy about it! I like the shoe boot for all different kinds of reasons which I won't bore you with now...

DAILY SHOE FIX...

I thought it fitting to have an Alexander McQueen tribute in the daily shoe fix.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN - THE END OF BRILLIANCE

I was so sad to hear about this brilliant designer's death. I can still remember the first pictures I saw of him, many years ago; the bit chubby, shy guy, who made waves in the fashion industry. Unfortunately no amount of success or money, or adoration can cure your inner demons. It is indeed a sad day for fashion, and for originality...

ROMANCE IS ALIVE AND WELL!!

This is such a beautiful story! It is from one of my favorite blogs (garance d'ore). Garance was in New York and saw this guy sitting outside, reading a book, and she liked his look, and asked to take a photograph of him. They started talking and realized that they were both French. She asked him about his denim shirt (and this is where the romantic part comes in...)

He told her his wife bought him the shirt, and showed her the heart that his wife embroidered on the inside of his pocket...That is the sweetest thing I have have heard about in a long time!

Romance is after all most obvious in the little things...
